Franco Casali was born in Cesena, Italy, on 21 January, 1937. He graduated in Physics with highest honours on 21 December, 1959. He qualified as a University teacher in "Nuclear Reactor Physics" in 1967.
Researcher at ENEA from 1960 to 11 November 1985 he was the Director of a Research Center with two experimental reactors.
He was also an Expert of the United Nations (IAEA) for nuclear power stations.
Last job at ENEA was as Director of Physics and Scientific Calculus Division.
Since November 1985 up to October 2006 he has been Associated Professor of "Health Physics" at the University of Bologna. He was also a teacher of the course "Archaeometry".
From 1 November 1988 to 31 October 1991 he was the Director of the Health Physics Postgraduate School of the University of Bologna.
He published more than one hundred papers in referred journals and he wrote two books concerning energy and one book of tales with the intention to teach subjects of physics and technical matter in "soft" way.
